    • Canoe or kayak rental at La Roque Gageac: Descend the Dordogne with Canoë Vacances

Would you like to take a boat trip on the Dordogne? Rent a canoe or a kayak to be completely independent! Canoë Vacances provides you with equipment in perfect condition, comfortable and pleasant to use. The canoes are for 2, 3 or 4 people, the kayaks for 1 person. Once you have chosen your route, go to the base for departures which are 3 times a day.

Good to know: Children under 12 who sail with their parents pay half price! The activity is not authorized for children under 5 years old (prefectural decree). Canoë Vacances offers you special rates and formulas for groups: groups of family, friends, EVJF, works councils

The Canoë Vacances nautical base is located 1km above the village of La Roque Gageac, it is a pretty pleasant plain to relax before or after boarding. You can park there easily and for free in a shaded car park. Bring your bathing suits and come swim on the beach, take advantage of the picnic area with tables or order a meal or a drink at the bar/snack bar at the base.

Several routes are available depending on the time you have, your desire and your physical condition. 25.16 or 9 km between the village of Carsac and the landing opposite the superb Milandes Castle. You will appreciate the beauty of the circuits, which are among the most beautiful in Périgord. You will see beautiful perched villages, generous nature and castles. Canoë Vacances is open from April to September, you must call to reserve your boat. Don't forget spare clothes, a hat in summer and sunscreen!

Great value pricing including coach trip back to the start point. The views on the river were outstanding, river side cafe part way through the trip was also great with fairly priced freshly cooked food.

We had a fantastic experience with Canoe Vacances! The online booking process was incredibly convenient, and their website is available in multiple languages, including English. The team displayed remarkable flexibility when we encountered thunder and rain on our adventure day. They kindly offered the choice to delay or reschedule, and we opted to wait until the weather improved. Checking in was a breeze, with clear instructions provided and they supplied a waterproof barrel to keep our belongings safe during the canoe trip. Embarking from the boat base, we embarked on a captivating 2-hour journey passing by La Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Beynac, and reaching the Milandes. The trip was perfect for families, offering breathtaking scenery and several ideal spots to take breaks. I wholeheartedly recommend Canoe Vacances for an unforgettable experience.

What an absolute find this was. This was pretty much a full day of fun. Sitting in a canoe with one of the kids while the wife sat in another with the other kid. We met at the main office where we left the car in a free car park. They drove us to Carsac where we met up with our canoe. No need for instructions just get in the flow and off you go. I couldn't take my eyes off the scenery. The surroundings were lovely and the water was crystal clear. We hardly paddled on our 12.5km route back to the bridge under Castelnaud. Saw some huge fish and also found a great tree for jumping in from. Had a phone to check we were OK as we didn't return by our 4.5 hours expected time. But we were fine and arrived back 2 hours after. Handed our gear in then drove off. Under 10s 50% off and it cost my family of 4, €77. Not a penny wasted. Defo recommend this.
