Charming rentals, gites and guest rooms at Château de Clauzuroux
Welcome to the Château de Clauzuroux, a sumptuous 17th century residence, listed as a Historic Monument, elegantly nestled in the countryside, in the Périgord Vert bordering the Charente. This family home since 1920 is surrounded by a park with formal gardens, the layout of which dates from the 18th century. Elegance and heritage are on the agenda for a charming stay, in one of the two gîtes and one of the 5 guest rooms of the castle.
Each cottage is equipped with a private heated swimming pool, with space to relax on one of the sunbeds. Garden furniture, BBQ, shared tennis and games for children, everything is there to spend a good holiday in this bucolic and calm setting. The lodgings have a capacity of 11 to 15 people, it is also possible to rent part of the guest rooms to increase the capacity.
Please note: The Château de Clauzuroux is open for free visit in summer.
The Château de Clauzuroux is ideally located for holidays with family or friends, its location in the north of Périgord Vert, not far from the Charente, is perfect for exploring the local natural and architectural heritage. Many hikes are present in the surroundings. From the gîtes it is possible to reach the village of Aubeterre-sur-Drone which is home to a sumptuous monolithic church. Brantôme, the Green Venice of Périgord is 25 minutes away, it is a charming village where it is possible to go canoeing, horseback riding or cycling in nature, while taking a break in one of its restaurants on the edge of the Drone.
Angoulême and Nontron (the famous knives of Nontron) are about forty minutes away, Périgueux the capital of Périgord Blanc with its old center labeled City of Art and History, the Saint-Front cathedral, are 50 minutes away and the pretty village of Saint-Jean-de-Côle, labeled among the Most Beautiful Villages of France is 40 minutes away.
