GORODKA, A NUG TO DISCOVER NEAR SARLAT
In the Dordogne, a few kilometers from Sarlat-La-Canéda, nestles an extraordinary art village, created 40 years ago by Pierre Shasmoukine. After a very turbulent life as an artist in Paris... He settled in 1970, at the age of 27, on a plot of wood given by his grandmother and became in turn, Architect, painter, poet, sculptor and precursor: Putting between aside from his vocation as an artist, in the 1970s he created the first NGO - on renewable energies - with 12 employees. He will then write the Catalog of Resources "Energy / Habitat" and with his self-taught experience, will publish "Construire en bois". All these pioneering years are exhibited in photos on site - but misunderstood by local politicians, he will cease this part of his activity and return to his life as an artist... He will write stories for adults and children, texts "of humor and mood"… Some of his paintings are illustrated by playful or dreamlike poems… For 15 years he will exhibit more than 300 artists. This atypical artist wore all the caps and invented Gorodka in his image. Don't miss this fascinating visit, which can last from 10 minutes to several hours... Some visitors even rent a small room to continue the visit the next day!
GORODKA, BUCOLIC PICNIC AND EXCEPTIONAL EVENING
Gorodka is one of the 30 singular places in France. It is an extraordinary museum with 5 galleries over 500 works by Pierre Shasmoukine, multi-art artist, "Horse factor in Périgord" and creator of this unique place. with a guest artist each year. At nightfall, Gorodka becomes Gorodka/Magika with its paths of luminous works. A helicopter-turned-dragonfly glistens in the night and a Mirage 4 is ready to depart for another elsewhere. You are not done being surprised...
Playful games for children with "drawing spaces" for young artists open the door to Gorodka to all audiences.
Gorodka is open in July/August, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. the rest of the year by appointment
From 7 p.m. - Picnic area with kitchenette for a bucolic moment.
Every Tuesday and Thursday evening - from July 1 to August 15 - guided tour at 8 p.m.
