Are you looking for an unusual accommodation in Périgord? Discover the perched cabins of Campagnac estate. Solidly installed on wooden platforms on stilts, these cabins are of great architectural beauty. Entirely made to measure by a craftsman from the small village of La Chapelle-Aubareil, a few kilometers away, they are the image of the plans that Isabelle and Pascal had in mind when they embarked on this large-scale project. Nearly 10 years ago, the couple fell in love with the Périgord and decided to settle in the village of Carsac-Aillac, on a property located at the top of a hill, in the sun and in the middle of nature. They renovated an old farmhouse and a tobacco drying shed to create gites and guest rooms. A few years later, this project of cabins takes shape!
CABINS PERCHED IN THE TREES IN THE BLACK PERIGORD
The 3 cabins are all different, but they have in common high quality finishes, custom-made furniture, unusual and atypical decoration elements. As soon as you climb the steps to reach the top of the structure, a feeling of calmness invades you: you are at the height of the canopy, overlooking a comforting wooded landscape. The height provides a feeling of natural and vegetal cocoon, of intimacy and security. All cabins are equipped with king size beds with comfortable and recent bedding. They are air-conditioned and have a functional kitchenette with a refrigerator, coffee machine and hot drinks. The bathrooms are very spacious, bright and with separate toilets. Each cabin has a private luxury Jacuzzi®/spa with massage jets and whirlpool. These areas are sheltered and have curtains for privacy, as well as string of lights.
Equia is the smallest of the 3 cabins, perfect for a couple, but can accommodate 4 people. The children can settle down in an original alcove, all dressed in wood, a small cozy and comfortable nest. The magnificent king size four-poster bed has a panoramic view of the terrace through a large bay window. An unusual wooden walkway leads to the spa. Take pleasure in observing the original decorative elements and the attention to detail inside the cabins.
Tobago is a romantic cabin, inspired by the tropics. It has a large terrace with a pleasant unobstructed view of the grounds. It is a perfect family cabin, the parents' space is located on the first floor and upstairs, a small room with 2 single beds will make the happiness of the children, it is a cabin in the cabin! Settled on the terrace in height, admiring the stars in the evening, rocked by the song of the crickets, you will plunge then with delight in the spa for an end of evening rocked by the hot and ressourçant waters.
Mayreau is accessed by a spiral staircase, which reveals a spacious terrace with a superb view of the pool. It is the largest of the cabins, it is 40m2 and can accommodate 5 people. The master bedroom is accessed by a beautiful open-work staircase, it has a large bed and a breathtaking view. The elegant guardrail made of driftwood chestnut ensures security and reaches up to the 4.5m cathedral ceiling like the antlers of a majestic stag! The children's beds are on the first floor and it's a safe bet that once they're settled in, they'll spend some time re-discovering the world, reading or dreaming.
The 3 cabins share a large heated pool. You can get there by a small path made of cast iron that winds through the park. The large beaches are furnished with deckchairs and umbrellas, and the stone coping stones are pleasant for lounging by the water while the children play. If you wish, a wellness area with a traditional wooden sauna is available on the estate, as well as a treatment room with massages (extra charge).
AN UNUSUAL RENTAL, BUT WELL LOCATED IN THE BLACK PERIGORD
If the cabins are perched in the trees, once you get down from this little paradise, you are only a few minutes away from the most important cultural and patrimonial sites of the Périgord. On one side Sarlat, the capital of the Périgord Noir, a little further, the Dordogne Valley (its castles, its gardens, its gabarre rides and small villages ...). On the other side, the Vézère Valley with its tourist sites around the prehistory. Lovers of sports and outdoor activities love the Dordogne, which is an endless playground: canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, via Ferrata, climbing, caving, there is so much to do! If you manage to leave these sumptuous cabins so friendly and comfortable...
