  At a first glance this hotel had everything we needed - great family rooms with a mezzanine level, comfortable surrounds, a pool, good location and friendly staff. However, over the couple of days that we stayed, conflict arose between the two types of visitor this hotel seems to attract - families with children and older couples, particularly over the shared use of the pool. The older visitors seemed to begrudge children doing anything except swimming lengths, which seems totally unreasonable for a place that advertises family accommodations. This resulted in a verbal row between the parents of one set of kids and some of the unfriendly childless couples. It appeared that there were some pool rules regarding diving and pushing that were being adhered to by the (in my opinion) very well behaved children, (aged between 3-11) but that interpretation of the rules was different by the older folks who seemed to prefer absolute silence, and a lack of any sort of splashing at the poolside. One of the owners was called to try and mediate the ongoing row and appeared to do very little except shrug her shoulders and state that she was in a difficult position. This hotel might be better suited as an adults only hotel if families are going to be made to feel so incredibly unwelcome by other patrons. As a result of this dispute which we witnessed and the complete lack of respect for all paying guests (young and old!) by other guests on site, plus the apathetic nature of the owner, we felt very uncomfortable during the rest of our stay and this is reflected in my score.

  Central location to the sightseeing spots. In fact, from the hotel you can see the Garden and 2 Castles. The room was clean, and the back door faced the open terrace decked out w chairs and tables with a nice view. They have a swimming pool. Owner Dominic was friendly and patient, as he shared the sightseeing spots. Will stay here again if we are back.

  The location of this hotel is ideal for touring the Dordogne region. Loved the pool and being surrounded by castles. I was there in September; hot air balloons were taking off as I was relaxing by the pool. So awesome!
