    • An opulence of nature and a luxury of serenity...

There is no better time than May, June or September for a getaway to the Dordogne. The first reason is that the accommodation at the Moulin de David is offered at very low prices.

The second is that all the tourist sites are open and their attendance is still low, which allows you to explore them peacefully, at your own pace. And there are many remarkable sites not far from the Moulin de David campsite.

The two closest are the bastide de Monpazier, ranked among "The Most Beautiful Villages of France" and the remarkable Castle of Biron, the one of the four baronies of Dordogne. These two sites are also so close to the campsite that they are accessible on foot via hiking trails.

You can also take advantage of the calm and serenity of the 16 ha Moulin de David to rest and take advantage of the campsite facilities. Although the period is classified as "low season" we offer activities and entertainment : accompanied hiking outings, initiation to Tai Chi Chuan, table d'hôtes dinner... As soon as the campsite opens. services such as groceries, on-site baking of bread and pastries, the bar and brasserie are operational.

Find it on the Guide du Périgord's Blog...

We stopped by to have lunch and see around and they were surprisingly rude with us. Very unfriendly and impolite. We were shocked about their behavior - especially a man who was the owner - that treated us like bad tourists and said we should go elsewhere. We were a family of 5 looking for a place to have lunch. We are still shocked about how we were treated. Apart from that, the camping didn’t look great and is in the middle of nowhere.

Very nice campsite. It’s large and stretched out over a little valley. We were staying in the Kenya lodge, which was well equipped and in a nice shady and quiet area of the campsite. The only negative about the tent is the beds, they are too short for large Dutch people. It is quite a walk from there to the pool or lake. There is plenty to do for the kids, but in the end there is not great animation ( only French speaking when we were there) that creates coherence between the kids. There is plenty of entertainment focussed on adults. The restaurant is ok as long as you stick with a pizza or a hamburger 🙈. Quite close to medieval towns, bastille’s, the Dordogne river and the Biron castle. Nice owners and helpful staff 👍 We had a good time !

We just came to have a picnic in a hot day of July. The bar was absolutely empty and 2 waiters talking alone. We asked if we could have our sandwich, taking the drinks and coffee from them, but they said no. After that we moved away to a grass next to our car, but still in the camping, to eat and move away, but one of the owners come and start saying we have to move away cause there was private. Inmediately, we said sorry, we thought it was out of the borders of the camping, and start to pick up our food and clean everything, while he wait at 2 meters of us standing without moving and saying we have to go out inmediately. Even when we were moving to the car, he continued looking us, in angry mode, shouting to my sis that we shouldn't be there and had to move. We apologize about having lunch on their place, but that actitude was unnecessary and I don't understand that behavior to a family that only wanted to take a drink and move over at 3 pm with 40°C in a 15th of July.
