In Périgueux, there is an incredible museum of Gallo-Roman ruins built under a glass and metal structure created by the famous French architect Jean Nouvel. It is the Vesunna Museum! It is a piece of art from the outside, and inside the museum holds a breathtaking collection of the artefacts from a Gallo-Roman Domus (a house), which once sat on this land.

Visit the museum with your family, as an expert or as an enthusiast. Here, everything has been made to learn and understand in an educational and recreational way. It is a living museum, which is far from fixed and dusty pictures... Here, there are workshops for children and adults, recreating concrete historical settings in order to understand how our ancestors lived at this time and place.

We haven’t invented anything; look at how modern, clean and clever they were! Be amazed by their elaborate floor heating system, the ingenious spa water heating system and the surprising central fountain operating system. The displays of 3D projections and models help you travelling back in time and imagine what this huge villa looked like during the Gallo-Roman times. But who could have been living here?
