From iron to straw: The Vaux Paper Mill
From iron to straw … This is the story of the Vaux Paper Mill, established in 1861 on the site of two former forges to produce rye straw paper. Five kilometers from Payzac, at a bend in a small road in the Périgord Vert region, the tall chimney of the blast furnace comes into view. You have arrived at the Paper Mill Ecomuseum.
Discover this historical monument, the last factory in France to feature an intact paper manufacturing line, a testament to the industrial era of the last century. During your visit, you will be shown the different stages of paper production.
Paper and linocut workshops are held during school holidays, by reservation only. Information is available on the calendar : naturellementperigord.fr.
