  Really good campsite. River which is kids friendly running through the middle. A nice small pool, 2m deep at the deep end. Table tennis table. Table football and couple of small games in cafe. Great location on the Dordogne (some awesome things to do there) Staff were no problem. Understood my dated French and also most of my English. But google translate is easy to use abroad. Wifi, very slow but didn't come for that. We stayed in no.72 caravan. Decent facilities, could do with a fan (unless it had one and we missed it) Very nice stay Thank you for the trip

  Les Cascades shows that a good base can last a very long time. Nice campsite in a beautiful spot in the Dordogne where early investments were made in creating shaded areas from the start in '82. a diversity of trees and a fairly central location for the extensive toilet building. We have spoken to several people who have been coming there for years and the basics are still the same (apart from modernization). The (French-speaking) owners work hard for this, you see them active all day on the camping site. Many beautiful sights are easy to visit from the campsite, by car, bicycle or even on foot. Almost all places have a lot of shade and the owners are honest about whether they have a place that suits you, if you indicate what you want. The places are diverse: on the water, in a field, with an unobstructed view, in a street. This was our first time in a street. We had booked quite late. Nevertheless, a very spacious, green spot with plenty of shade. It took some getting used to with a road in front and behind you, but the place turned out to be very pleasant in the end. Contact between children and their parents is quickly established in these places. And yes, there are Dutch people, but you also hear quite a bit of French and Flemish. There is no entertainment, (almost) no internet, children (up to about 12) entertain each other and in the high season there are also performances (max 1x a week, until 11 pm). So you don't have to count on the kids being in bed early on that evening. Early birds find little response here in the high season anyway. People go to bed relatively late, including children.
