    • Traditional Périgord cuisine in a warm atmosphere: Le Bistrot du Presbytère

10km from Bergerac, the small village of Queyssac is charming and for a bucolic and gourmet stopover, remember to book at the Bistrot du Presbytère. This family-run restaurant, with a smile as much in the service as in the plate, will delight you with its simple but very generous cuisine, without fuss, with fresh and regional products. Sit on the terrace, under the large parasols in a friendly atmosphere. Inside, two beautiful rooms are available. The restaurant Le Bistrot du Presbytère is located in a traditional Périgord house, completely renovated, with beautiful exposed stones.

On your plate, classics from the region, but also bistro cuisine : beautiful salads, pieces of meat from the butcher, fish of the day, duck in all its forms (magret, foie-gras, confit) all accompanied by a delicious soup, and gourmet desserts. It's a real grandmother's cooking that will make you feel like a Proust madeleine, with simple and fine flavors at the same time, perfectly seasoned. A large car park is available near the restaurant and the establishment is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Here, everything is on the plate, but the prices are very reasonable, you will be surprised by the addition while having enjoyed a wonderful meal with family or friends. Then take the opportunity to visit the region ! Queyssac is located north of Bergerac, you are in the immediate vicinity of the entire wine- growing area of Bergerac with visits to castles, tastings and the discovery of the town of Cyrano. Further east, the Dordogne Valley and its major tourist sites, gardens, medieval castles, hikes, charming villages...

On the advice of the owner of our holiday home, we visited this restaurant with different terraces not once but three times. A covered terrace, a terrace next to the building with trees and a beautiful view of a green hill with an old grain silo. And at the front there are 3 tables for a romantic dinner with a view of the church and on the other side the green hill. Inside there are 2 rooms with large fireplaces with large round tables and small tables for small parties. We were always nicely welcomed by the owners and on average we sat there for about 3 hours each time, because the atmosphere was so good. The 4-course menu was 25 euros pp, but could easily have been double. Each dish was delicious and made with love. A small but good wine list and the location makes it an extra nice trip. Besides the 2 dinners, we also enjoyed lunch there after walking the 'Boucle des Hameaux 7.9km'. After lunch, we sat in the sun for hours with our book and even got another spot in the garden, where we got a bit more shade, as the sun was shining very hard at the front of the property. Also for people who are passing through with e.g. a camper/van this is an absolute must, you can park for free at the bottom of the green hill at the back of the restaurant and spend the night next to a nice little stream. The walking routes are also very beautiful and easy to follow. Thanks for the beautiful evenings and relaxing afternoons! Sarah & Tim
