    • Restaurant by the water in Brantôme: Le Saint-Sicaire

Le Saint-Sicaire has been a family-run restaurant for over 15 years. When Hervé Roussarie invested in this beautiful address on the banks of the Dronne, at the entrance to the village of Brantôme (the Venice of the Périgord Vert), he was not content to bet on the location and the beauty places ! Because it is on the plate that the Saint-Sicaire stands out, with fresh, local and seasonal products. The menu offers excellent value for money, with a diverse selection of dishes to suit all tastes. The traditional cuisine of Périgord, giving pride of place to local products (foie-gras, lamb, walnuts, duck) shares the menu with brasserie classics executed with talent (homemade burgers, beautiful pieces of meat, generous salads). The wine list is varied and you will enjoy enjoying the warm atmosphere of the terrace by the water, for a friendly aperitif !

Have a table outside (70 seats available) or inside, in the veranda or in the upstairs room which can accommodate 45 people. Groups are welcome at the Saint-Sicaire, 70 people can sit indoors and the restaurant can be privatized if necessary. Hervé will concoct a tailor-made menu for you according to your needs, your budget and your desires. Think of the Saint-Sicaire for your meals with family, friends or business.

Since the 2021 season, the Saint-Sicaire has had 4 high-performance machines for serving delicious and creamy homemade Italian ice cream. For dessert, installed in the restaurant or passing through, these ice creams with various flavors are served in jars or very crunchy artisanal cones. You can also enjoy a homemade crepe, chocolate, sugar and other flavors depending on the time of day. The restaurant is open from mid-February to November, come for a walk in Brantôme and share a meal at Saint-Sicaire in a good atmosphere that will delight the whole family. Special care is given to children who are served first. Allergic or intolerant people will also find what they are looking for with menus adapted to their needs.

Brantôme is a very pleasant village, nestled in a loop of the Dronne. With its Benedictine abbey, its semi-troglodyte caves, its gardens and parks, its old center and its small shopping streets, its weekly market (Friday morning) and its local producers' market (in season on Tuesday morning) it is a high place of tourism in Périgord Vert. Come for a walk on the Dronne, by canoe or boat, take a mountain bike ride, hike, or simply stroll to admire the landscape. An unmissable destination in the Dordogne !

We often visited Brantome every time we go to Dordogne Region. Our first time to have a lunch in this Restaurant. To be fair the atmosphere and service was good esp the nice lady who can speak English, she was very helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was overrated, terrible and absolutely disgusting.. The entree’ was too small hardly any in the plate, here comes the steak it was greasily, rubbery and full of fat. Honestly, I’ve never seen as awful as a steak meal all my life. And bear in mind, it’s too pricey for that sort of dish. We left the place with unhappy and disgusted thoughts. Btw, avoid this restaurant if you happen to visit Brantome’ 😡

We travelled for an hour and a half to visit this Restaurant and it was certainly worth the effort. The Menu selection was more than adequate and varied; though two of my party would have liked a main course Fish option, but none was available. The service was outstanding, from the Maître D downwards. The waiting staff are to be highly commended. NOTHING was too much trouble. Assistance with the Menu, where necessary was freely given in a very friendly, but always professional manner. I cannot thank all the staff enough, they ensured that what was a special day for us all, went smoothly and calmly.

I have been visiting France for 15 years now and have mostly found the food to be of very high standard. However my recent visit to this restaurant was the worst experience so far. The pate starter was as thin as paper and tasteless the accompanying salad which was a soggy mass of lettuce was equally poor. I was hoping the steak would improve the disappointment of my starter. Unfortunately not. This was terrible again full of fat that was not even edible and it was served with potatoes lacking in any taste whatsoever. I`m not a big veg eater and was surprised to see not one vegetable served with my meal. The tiramisu was slightly above average if you like the runny concoction and not something I have eaten before but it was ok. Certainly not a place I would visit again.

Perfect location, right by the river. This may not be the “poshest” place in Brantome but, for us, it is the happiest! Menu is good, reasonably priced, and very tasty. Location is superb - but...
