    • LE CONQUIL authentic troglodyte site located between LES EYZIES and MONTIGNAC-LASCAUX.

In an exceptional, wild and natural setting LE CONQUIL is full of mystery. You will discover shelters under rocks on the edge of Vézère, these natural cavities were occupied by man from prehistoric times, then fitted out and modified in the Middle Ages.

Several elements suggest that LE CONQUIL could be "a safe for goods" in the event of attacks. The tour is shaded at all hours of the day. It is free, you can take the time you want and do it at your own pace.

      THE MOST :
      - From the Big Bang to the appearance of dinosaurs to the first humans, LE CONQUIL traces the evolution of life over a year. You will also be able to discover the first earth lizards and meet creatures from the Jurassic period.
      - Possibility of combining the visit with tree climbing.

On site : snack bar, refreshment bar, picnic area, shop...

We only did the Dino trail because the high ropes courses were already booked. (book before you go there!) The Dino trail on itself was a bit disappointing for the larger kids but can still be OK for younger children. The rope courses looked really good with a lot of variation. (that why I rated 4 instead of 3) I assume you can have a great time if you spend the day by doing all activities.

The crew is friendly and accomodative. The family adventure tour is great for small kids (under 5).The parc itself is cool in the summer, however feels a bit outdated. The dinos feel rather static and the explanations are text book style. Some modern visualisations or interactive elements would be welcome. The Dutch translations are mediocre at best. Overall, it's worth the money, but it holds far more potential than currently displayed.

We just did the high ropes course, which was really good, we did not do the dinosaur trail. I would imagine that if we're not a boy of under 8, the trail would have limited appeal. One other note from our party, the seems to be a massive difference between the adult high ropes course & the family one. The family one is not much more than an adventure playground in a beer garden... our 11 year old was not sure about the full size course, so we paid for the family one. She was even less impressed when we got there, back to reception to upgrade! Thankfully no issues with upgrades

Disappointed that the animations which are clearly advertised in the leaflet (fire lighting etc) were not actually available. No discount offered when we found this out.

Visit in the off season or with kids My first impression was this is going to to be tacky. 8 euro each in early September and no one else in the park. Also a beautiful day. We loved the experience...

The dinosaur and cave circuit is real fun for small children and I am sure we will go back in future years, hopefully to do the tree walkway and zip line when the children are old enough. It is also...
