Cross-country skiing in Corrèze

Direction the Millevaches plateau in Corrèze for a day of skiing between Landes and forests. At an altitude between 850 m and 950m, take to the skies to enjoy the pure air surrounded by nature, comfortably seated on your skis as they glide between the 5 slopes of Bonnefond, or the 6 slopes of Saint-Setier. With a distance of between 3 and 20 km, there is something for all desires and all levels, with marked trails for cross-country skiing in complete safety. About 3 hours from Périgueux, join the Haut-Cantal and Puy Mary Nordic ski area for a lively day. Many activities are offered in the heart of magnificent snowy landscapes. Put on your skis to slide down 60 km of trails accessible to snowshoes and cross-country skis. Marked, secure and tracked, they are suitable for all levels between green, red or blue slopes. Equipment rental is available if you wish to ski for the day, departing from Col de Serre or Lacourt which are the two entry points to Puy Mary.

Super-Besse

This small ski resort located between 1350 m and 1850 m above sea level is renowned for being family-friendly and friendly, open to everyone and for all levels. Labeled Famille plus, it is ideal for skiing with children in winter with individual and group lessons offered throughout the season. The Lioran

Located 3 hours from Périgueux, the station is easily accessible by car and even by train since the station is located at the foot of Lioran. In the winter season, free shuttles take you to the surrounding villages. Enjoy an exceptional setting in the heart of the Auvergne Volcano Natural Park which offers an escape into nature. The area, spread over 150 hectares, is made up of 43 slopes for skiing among the fir trees, or admiring a 360° view at the top of the volcano. Ideal for families, the resort offers slopes for all levels and access to the iconic Plomb du Cantal cable car. Skiing is a real pleasure in the Massif Central.

Mount Dore

On the northern slope of Sancy, Mont Dore offers an atypical natural setting with its snow-covered slopes surrounded by mountains, 2 hours 20 minutes from Périgueux. With a maximum altitude of 1850 m, it is accessible to beginners and experienced riders alike with 32 trails divided from green to black. A fun area has been set up for children who are less comfortable on skis, with a free ski lift to allow them to easily get used to mechanical transport. Labeled family plus, the Mont Doré resort offers packages adapted to the youngest, and varied activities. Individual and group ski lessons can be booked at Mont Doré, leaving a few hours for experienced parents to slide down to Super-Besse via an open connection depending on the weather. Take advantage of the free shuttles to travel during the winter, they take you to the foot of the slopes.

Chastreix-Sancy

The Chastreix-Sancy resort extends over the west face of Sancy and offers an incomparable view of the mountains. The smallest resort in the Massif Central, it surprises with its breathtaking landscapes and panoramas which give a real feeling of freedom. Head to the Pyrenees

Other more distant resorts remain accessible by car with at least a 4-hour drive from Périgord. Leave early in the morning to enjoy the pleasures of skiing all day long, or plan a few days of escape for a winter break in high season in various resorts:



  • Cauterets is a town in the mountains with many Nordic activities such as downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Cirque des Lys and Pont d'Espagne, these are two ski areas which are accessible for alpine skiing.
  • The Gourette resort offers an exceptional setting for skiing, whether you are beginners or experienced. Made up of slopes for all levels, it is fully equipped and secure with breathtaking panoramas.
  • Saint-Lary is one of the largest ski areas in the Pyrenees with more than 100 km of slopes. Between the greens, blues, reds and blacks, you have something to satisfy all your desires for sliding in an incredible natural and snowy setting.
  • La Mongie offers skiing for the whole family. Snow garden for children, marmot route for older children and slopes of all colors for parents, the day will be slippery and fun at La Mongie.
