    • Listed as a historical monument, this extraordinary “cliff-castle” is undoubtedly the most secret, the most unusual and the most mysterious in Périgord. Some even say it is haunted...
Preserved in exceptional condition since the 14th century and fully furnished with period furniture, the Fortified House of Reignac is in France the only monument of this troglodyte type to have come down to us completely intact.

Stunning castle so well kept with beautiful rooms and very informative guide book in English. All real fires inside and really gives an idea of life inside. Also grisly but interesting exhibition of torture. A fantastic choice for a day with not so nice weather. Will definitely recommend and visit again

Interesting exposition of cave castle itself, pre-historic artefacts, local fauna. Torture room not for people with live imagination and weak nerves, might give nightmares. Very interesting for kids, as well as adults.

This is the best museum I've seen I'm my life. The whole fortified house comes to live with multiple fireplaces burning wood making smoke and giving the ambience of the chateau, with amazing sound effects throughout the house, with real food and also real instruments and artifacts from back in the day. And so much more. We also love the last exhibition of the medieval torture devices, also real devices. The stuff was super nice. We spend 4 hours inside. I truly appreciate all the effort put in to this museum!! HIGH RECOMMEND THE VISIT 🥰♥️

Breathtaking collection of Victorian-era, medieval and pre-historic artefacts. All look authentic, and a lot of the stuff way surpasses the National Museum of Prehistory in interest. You can touch...
